The web has become an obsession.
The freedom and potential for sharing ideas and other content with people from around the world is invigorating. This is especially true of the many open-source projects that provide the backbone for much of the web, which when successful also require a powerful and democratic community spirit. The WordPress community is but one example.
Sometimes I wonder if there is a way to leverage the web to distribute the various strands of new music to people that are unlikely to step foot in a concert hall. Is it just wishful thinking?
To every web-based project, I contribute creativity, technical understanding, and a strong set of problem solving skills.
While working at Boston University, I have developed a number of plugins for BU's WordPress CMS, including a custom taxonomy management plugin and a plugin for creating related links on by-post, by-page, or by-section basis. Although most of my time is spent working with a LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP) stack, when time permits, I dabble in Python (Django) and Ruby on Rails. (Programming in PHP is not exactly fun, but it does the job.)
